In the 1980’s, the Council for Art Education (CFAE) was founded to carry on the tradition of Youth Art Month and help increase the financial assistance from private corporations and other associations to carry out national as well as local activities. Each year, flags designed by students across the nation are flown to Washington D.C., and, funding permitting, displayed in an opening ceremony where legislators, family, teachers, and other students are in attendance.
