Dameion,
14, is an African-American male proudly promoted to the 8th
grade this year after doing very well in 7th grade and summer
school, having made tremendous strides and progress academically
and behaviorally since 2006. He has special education needs. Dameion
has done very well in his current foster home, where he has
resided since August 2007; is demonstrating signs of increasing
maturity; and is doing well overall at home and in school. He
is healthy with no known or reported major medical concerns
or issues. Dameion
enjoys attending summer camps and likes to go on day trips
to amusement parks. He
has a membership at the YMCA. Dameion likes swimming in the community
pool and participating in family outings. He attends Boys & Girls
Club daily after school. Dameion enjoys listening to music through
his headphones. He would like to maintain contact with several
members of his biological extended family.

Josh, 13, is an African-American male legally free
for adoption. He
was recently promoted to 8th grade after a successful 7th
grade year and expressed interest in trying out for the school
Track team. Josh continues to feel somewhat stressed
by the increased workload of middle school but did miss attending
school when it was not in session during summer break. His
teacher works cooperatively with him by allowing him to receive
extra credit for additional work completed on weekends. Josh
is interested in moving from special education to regular
classes. He attends a creative arts school twice weekly. Josh
enjoyed spending time with his mentor from Big Brothers/Big
Sisters and is awaiting assignment of a new one. He
has no known or reported medical concerns. He enjoys
visiting with his half-brother and that sibling’s grandmother. Could
your family possibly be the forever family for which Josh

Mykeisha (Keisha) is a
beautiful, 15-year-old, African-American young lady. She
is a very good A - B student.
Because of some medical issues, Keisha attended a specialized
school in eager anticipation of attending high school. She
is now enjoying and doing well in 9th grade in a vocational-technical
high school, and that has her very excited! She enjoys spending
time with her peers, as well as playing games or watching
TV. She also enjoys singing, dancing, and stepping. Keisha
has long-term plans and hopes to own a restaurant someday.
She is learning about healthy nutrition but does love to
make pastries. She also plans to attend college and, eventually,
raise her own family. Keisha needs a family to help her move
into the future and accomplish her goals - could that be you?

Jowelle is an 11-year-old, African-American
girl currently in foster care and legally free for adoption. She
gets a kick from cruising on her bicycle, roller skating,
and knocking down pins at the bowling alley. She has
lots of BFFs (Best Friends Forever), and her sense of humor
keeps them all in stitches. She would like to take swimming
lessons. A
forever family is sought for this little girl, who for now
is just enjoying being eleven, although she plans to become
a teacher. She is a twin being placed separately from
her sisters. She likes to be the center of attention
and prefers to be the only child in an African-American family.

Akoya is an 11-year-old, African-American
girl currently in foster care and legally free for adoption.
She is ambitious, intelligent, friendly, and outgoing. Akoya
loves being involved in activities and bringing joy to the
lives of others. She wants to become a veterinarian or teacher.
She maintains average grades and is well liked by her teachers
and peers. She likes all of her school subjects and playing
Double Dutch with her best friend at recess. She has a good
sense of humor and is usually laughing and playful. Spirituality
and God are very important to her; she is active in her school and church
choirs and with a Praise Dance Troop. Akoya would like a
forever family that enjoys various activities, especially church. She
wants a mother who will care about her and love her. Akoya has siblings
with whom she will need to maintain contact through letters.

Turrell is a 10-year-old, African-American
boy legally free for adoption. He attends Milton Hershey School in
Hershey, Pennsylvania, which is a wonderful educational opportunity
for him. Science
is his favorite subject. Making a good impression is very
important to him. Turrell is friendly, outgoing, and really
likes to talk, especially about sports. He loves football
and plans to be a professional athlete. Turrell enjoys bowling,
roller skating, and riding his bicycle. He loves chicken nuggets,
spaghetti, chili, and macaroni & cheese. Turrell is very
charming. He has siblings with whom he needs to maintain regular
contact and is seeking a forever family who will encourage
and support this meaningful connection to his biological
family.

Jaliqua is a 13-year-old, African-American
girl residing in a foster home and is legally free for adoption. She
has many interests, including sports, horses, bike riding, roller
skating, and singing. Jaliqua likes socializing with her friends
whether outside or talking via telephone. She loves painting and art
projects, and solving puzzles. She previously contributed as a star
player on her basketball team at the local recreation center and
would love to resume basketball. Jaliqua is one of seven children
in her birth family; however, they are all being placed separately
for adoption. She
can be very sweet and caring toward others but has a very tenacious
streak as well. Jaliqua prefers to have things the way she wants
them. A
forever family is needed to help Jaliqua become the great leader
she may be destined to be.

Jacob is a 12-year-old, African-American boy legally free
for adoption, wanting “a true family that likes to have fun even
doing housework”.
He enjoys cooking, wanting to be a world-famous chef; he watches cooking
shows, making all kinds of desserts, including cheesecake and banana
bread. He enjoys horseback riding and football. Jacob does well in school,
maintaining solid grades. He enjoys reading, gym, science experiments,
solving math equations, and playing drums in music class. Jacob is polite,
inquisitive, bright, friendly, outgoing, and loves jokes. He likes movies,
shopping, and listening to gospel and rap music. He prefers to dress
in a suit. Thoughts of a forever family often come into his mind. All
Jacob wants is a “family
that loves me and likes to cook”.

Ezra is a 13-year-old, African-American boy currently in foster care
with his younger brother and is legally free for adoption. He hopes
to become a construction worker so that he may build houses for himself,
as well as for others. Ezra is friendly and enjoys sports, particularly
football, and playing pool. He also animals, his favorites being snakes
and other reptiles. Ezra likes to spend time at the mall and the arcade
with his friends, getting a kick out of finding challengers to face
off against on his favorite video games. He participates in Boys and
Girls Club programs, where he mentors younger children and volunteers
at homeless shelters. Ezra has endured many disappointments and has been
let down by people he thought he could trust. He very much wants to be part
of a family who loves and cares about him and will remain there for him for
the long haul. A family is being sought that will allow him to have
continued contact with his siblings, who are being placed separately.

Kevina is a 13-year-old, African-American girl who is legally free for adoption. She currently lives in a Residential Treatment Center, having experienced an enormous amount of hurt for someone of her young age; however, her struggles, confusion and anger have not destroyed her. Kevina is an excellent student who enjoys writing poetry, singing, cheerleading, and swimming. She enjoys shopping and can spot bargains; she dresses very well, utilizing whatever money she has. Kevina hopes to be an attorney someday, is tenacious and can stand up for what she believes. She is articulate, intelligent, and talented, and is trying diligently to use her strengths in positive ways. The fact that she can even hope for a forever family speaks volumes about her. She is a survivor.

Amir is an 8-year-old, African-American boy legally free
for adoption. He would like to be a police officer or firefighter
so that he can help take care of children. He can be kind-hearted
and caring. Energetic, he is constantly on the go; he likes
basketball, skeeball, and climbing through tunnels in family-fun
centers. Amir has a great sense of humor and appreciates
a good joke. He currently resides in a foster home, having
endured many disappointments and disruptions in his young life. Amir
needs a forever family who will support, encourage, and not
abandon him. He would do best in a family where he would
be the youngest or only child, thriving when the focus of attention
is solely on him.
