- Delaware Children’s Department Increases Access to Child Mental Health Treatment through Victims of Crime Act Grant
- WILMINGTON - The Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families was recently awarded a federal grant in the amount of $102,840 by the Criminal Justice Council. This grant will be used employ two additional masters level crisis intervention therapists, who will be trained in trauma-specific treatment and practices to increase access to specific mental health treatment for children/families that have been exposed to violence and/or traumatic events.

- The Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families today presented its FY 2007 Governor’s Recommended Budget to the Joint Finance Committee. Emphasis was placed on a four-year strategic plan that focuses on basic infrastructure needs and a reform of the juvenile justice system. The proposed budget is $158.4 million in total funds including enhancements for intensive outpatient treatment in New Castle County , day treatment in Sussex County , substance abuse assessments for youth statewide and conversion of the successful Families and Children Together (F.A.C.T.) project from a federal grant to State funding.

- Governor Ruth Ann Minner Monday presented the first Governor's Team Excellence Award to the Community Services Re-Engineering Team of the Division of Youth Rehabilitative Services, Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families (DSCYF).
